Ventura County-Channel Islands Harbor entrance

Ventura County Beaches are broad & open with two fishing piers in the area. Mandalay Beach and the Channel Islands Marina are uncrowded, quiet and peaceful. This Harbor offers the Maritime Museum, numerous shops & restaurants & is gateway to the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. The inland portion of western Ventura County is diverse with wonderful opportunities from Golf course homes, gated developments to lovely condos.   Ventura Harbor Village is a lovely destination filled with shops and restaurants.  Ventura Harbor is home to the Channel Islands National Park.

 

Ventura County Real Estate is surrounded by rich agricultural land and numerous new shopping centers. Between the communities of Oxnard and Ventura lies McGrath State Beach, one of the best bird-watching areas in California. Just south of Ventura Harbor is Surfers Point and the mouth of the Santa Clara River.

Both City and County governments promote Parks and Recreation throughout the County.  This Park represents the standard of adding recreational space to virtually each new community in the area. Besides the popular playing fields, this park also features a Boys and Girls Club complex.

Oxnard Public Library

In downtown Oxnard, the County's largest library is a busy place with parents and children flocking there after school and on weekends.

Just about every community offers a Farmers Market. Scheduled throughout the year, they offer a taste of the County----fresh produce, food, locally grown honey and other treats. These markets are just one example of the quality of life around the county.


City of Oxnard

The most diverse and largest city in Ventura County, Oxnard offers both the most affordable  and most expensive homes in the County.  Very large beach and marina selection of single family homes and condos. New large golf course area homes and affordable tract homes built from the 1950's to the present.

City of Port Hueneme

This city has a number of affordable beach front condos starting below $200,000. Inland, lovely townhomes in the $300,000 range. Pictured above is Surfside III, just across the creek is the dunes covering Hueneme Beach. This complex has about 300 units, most apartment size condos and many with ocean and beach views.


City of Ventura

Traditional home tracts abound, but scarcity has forced prices up and inventory is low.  Some beach and hillside view homes are available and affordable condos starting under $200,000.


Shopping around western Ventura County

Just in the last few years western Ventura County has become a shopping destination for miles around.  From outlet malls to traditional department stores, all stadium seat theatres to neighborhood eateries, residents can find just about everything they need locally.
